ohwell…. the GNOME devs seem to think it’s the right direction for their Project… and it is their decision at the end of the day… but They will continue to be criticized and attract backlash which can Kill a project or force them to change…. be interesting to see what happens. I have given up caring about Gnome anyways, they will never catch up to Kde

I hate the new gnome shell. I am checking out KDE. i don’t like Unity. I feel betrayed. I used to have a smooth working computer since 2005. i don’t understand why they had to change everything so dramatically. Have a special offshoot of a distro for tablets and phones but don’t destroy the good things you had before. i keep writing my opinion to all the distros that i have tried. I am not frustrated enough to go back to windows but I know people who have. Its the wrong direction for Linux.

also I don’t like the new kde, gnome 2.7 or xfce for me. There are some new ones that are getting good.

Judging from their childish look and their lack of functionality, I don’t think Unity & GNOME Shell were created for power users. KDE is the way to go because it gives more power to the user in so many ways.

05:41 “The whole idea of GNOME shell really is to organize applications in to separate work spaces or snap them in to grid.” Thanks for that info! I’ve been wondering is it me or the GNOME that has been giving me problems. I’ve never been used to using work spaces on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux, so I have to start testing using them.

nice review, btw, informative. i’m looking into running the new fedora, hence also the GS. the extensions, though, can make quite a difference and i see you reviewed the vanilla thing. also, i learned something new about KDE from that video
good job.

Drive back to windows? I thought that closet is already demolished. You sure mean, drive back to KDE or drive back to XFCE, or drive back to E17.. or LXDE.. or Rox.. or Fluxbox etc ?
